Hard Rock Stadium in Miami is hosting the national teams of Norway and England. Both sides had to overcome significant hurdles on their way to this round of the World Cup and now have just the final steps to take.

The Norwegian national team

The Scandinavians have shown tremendous potential and overcome some very worthy opponents. Thanks to the most significant victory in Norway’s history – against Brazil in the round of 16 – the ‘Vikings’ have reached the World Cup quarter-finals for the first time.

It is worth noting that in eleven of Norway’s last twelve matches, both teams have scored. In their last six competitive matches, the team have scored at least once after the 85th minute.

England

The English, from whom fans expect great victories, have rather unexpectedly overcome some tough opponents. The Mexican national team was one such side.

Thomas Tuchel’s side should not feel too confident, as five of their last six World Cup play-off matches against European teams have ended in defeat.

In four of England’s five World Cup matches, they have scored exactly two goals in the second half. England have scored goals from the 60th minute onwards in five of their last six international matches.

Prediction

Norway are performing well in attack. This match against England will be no exception, and Erling Haaland will once again find the net – and not just once.

The English also have a strong attacking line-up, as Harry Kane is still rightly regarded as the team’s leader and top scorer.
Given the strength of the attacking players and the attacking potential, it is worth considering the ‘over 2.5’ option.
