The Danes failed to qualify for the World Cup after losing their final play-off match against the Czech Republic. The team’s failure to reach the 2026 World Cup was something of a shock, but they lost to a fairly evenly matched opponent.

The Ukraine national team played their previous match against Poland for the first time under the guidance of a foreign coach. Andrea Maldera made a successful debut.
