Ukraine has secured 23rd place in the UEFA coefficient rankings at the end of the season. Despite this, there is still a chance to improve their starting position ahead of the 2026/27 European cup campaign.
Ukraine’s last remaining representative in European competition, Shakhtar, lost 1–3 to English side Crystal Palace in the first leg of the Conference League semi-final. Oleg Ocheretko scored the Miners’ only goal in the 48th minute.
Due to the defeat in the first leg of the semi-final, Shakhtar failed to pick up any points, and Ukraine lost the chance to overtake Hungary, which occupies 22nd place in the rankings. Consequently, the ‘blue and yellows’ will finish the season in 23rd place with 25.912 points.
A victory for Shakhtar in the return leg against Crystal Palace could help Ukraine climb to 22nd place—even if the team does not reach the tournament final. In such a scenario, Ukraine would overtake Croatia in the overall rankings.
Overall, following the first semi-final matches of the European club season, the situation in the coefficient table has remained stable. England leads the way, boasting the highest overall coefficient of 117.964 points and the status of having the largest contingent of four clubs.
