Anastasia Alpeeva successfully defended her European title in the under-76kg weight category, defeating three-time European medallist Alexandra Angel.
This is Ukraine’s seventh medal at the 2026 European Wrestling Championships: 3 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals, reports Sport Bet.
On Friday, 24 April, Ukrainian wrestlers will compete for a further three gold medals in the finals. The final bouts are scheduled to begin at 19:00.
Earlier, the government stated that Ukrainian athletes must compete in the tournament even in the presence of Russians and Belarusians.
