President Donald Trump met with the players of the US men’s ice hockey team at the White House. One of the hockey players suggested that the American president try on the trophy, according to Sport Bet.
Trump jokingly refused to return the gold medal, and the hockey player wittily offered a barter in response — to exchange the award for a pen lying on the table.
The US team ended their Olympic campaign on a high note, defeating Canada in the final. This is the team’s first Olympic gold since 1980.
It should be noted that the Olympic champions — the women’s team — declined the invitation to meet with Trump. The athletes explained their refusal by citing their busy training schedule.
