Oleksii Sereda, a Ukrainian diver, has been named Sportsman of the Year by European Aquatics. The talented athlete topped the ranking of the best athletes of 2025, receiving well-deserved recognition from Europe’s leading aquatic federation.
The European Aquatics Federation has nominated 13-year-old Oleksii for this prestigious award for the fourth time in a row, according to the press service of the Ukrainian Diving Federation.
It should be noted that last year was a ‘golden’ one for Oleksii Sereda’s career. Our athlete left his rivals no chance at the continental championships and won three gold medals, conquering the individual, synchronised and mixed team programmes.
This is Sereda’s second title as the best in Europe (the first was won in 2023). In the new 2026 season, fans can look forward to seeing Oleksii compete first at the World Cup in Canada (end of February) and then at the European Summer Championships in the French capital.
As a reminder, a 12-year-old Chinese swimmer won bronze and became the youngest world champion in history.
