The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has posted a statement on its official website announcing that it is reinstating the youth teams of Russia and Belarus. From now on, athletes from these countries can participate in youth competitions with their national symbols. The FIVB Executive Committee stated that Russians and Belarusians can now participate in competitions under their flags, with their anthems and symbols, starting in January next year.

In addition, the statement says that the International Volleyball Federation condemns any acts of violence and remains concerned about the situation in Ukraine. The FIVB hopes that peace will come as soon as possible.

This decision was made in accordance with the IOC’s recommendations to ease sanctions against Belarusian and Russian athletes. However, sanctions remain in place for the adult national teams of the above-mentioned countries (the teams have been suspended from competition since March 2022).

We would like to remind you that the Ukrainian women’s team made a triumphant start at the 2025 Beach Volleyball World Championships.
