The Swedish Open Championships began in Idre on 15 November. In recent years, this competition has been considered the unofficial opening of the winter season, where a significant number of top athletes have the opportunity to assess their readiness for the first World Cup races in Östersund, which will take place in two weeks. The full start list includes a list of biathletes participating in the competition.
The tournament programme traditionally consists of a short individual race and a sprint for men and women, but in 2025, due to weather conditions and insufficient snow, the organisers have changed the format and will hold two sprints on different routes.
