Ilya Malinin, world champion in figure skating, set a new world record in the free skate during the Grand Prix of Canada.

The athlete approached the Canadian Grand Prix in excellent form – his winning streak has continued since December 2023. At that time, the American finished second at the stage in France, after which he consistently won only victories.

In the free skate, Malinin scored 228.97 points, surpassing his previous record, which he set himself at the 2024 World Championships.

The new achievement surpassed the old one by 1.18 points, once again confirming the skater’s dominance on the international stage.

As a reminder, Eliud Kipchoge will run seven marathons on seven continents. Running in Antarctica will be the culmination of his career.
