Turin’s Juventus quickly found a replacement for the dismissed Igor Tudor. They decided to invite former national team coach Luciano Spalletti to take his place.

Spalletti signed a contract until the end of the season. Juventus is currently in seventh place in Serie A, so there will be a lot of work to do.

According to Italian media reports, the contract includes a clause that provides for its extension for two years if the club finishes at least fourth this season and qualifies for the Champions League.

Spalletti will make his debut for Juventus on Saturday in an away Serie A match against Cremonese, the team currently in eighth place in the standings.

He was the coach of the Italian national team until the summer. In June, he was forced to leave after a 3-0 defeat to Norway in World Cup qualifying.

As a club coach, he led Napoli to the championship title in the 2022/23 season. Other stages of his coaching career include Roma, Inter and Zenit (St. Petersburg).

The Italian national team is currently led by Gennaro Gattuso, who won the World Cup as a player in Germany in 2006.

As a reminder, Real Madrid has filed a claim with UEFA for more than €4.5 billion.
