Sandro Diaz, a skateboarder from Brazil, made a historic descent at the Red Bull Building Drop show in Porto Alegre.

He descended from a curved wall at a height of almost 90 metres – the wall of an administrative building in Porto Alegre was turned into a ramp.

The athlete managed to reach a speed of 103.8 km/h. This allowed him to set records in the categories of ‘highest drop in a temporary quarterpipe’ and ‘highest speed in a temporary quarterpipe’.

The skateboarder had been preparing to set these records since 2024. He had to train with special weights to withstand the overload of almost 4g during the descent. Sandro made only four attempts – all of them successful.

As a reminder, a 12-year-old Chinese swimmer won bronze and became the youngest world champion in history.
