The Tour de France starts in Lille on Saturday, 5 July. The world’s biggest cycling race will start in the north of France.

The first stage runs along the route from Lille and returns to the city. Given its flat profile, it is likely to be of interest to sprinters.

Sprinters Phil Bauhaus and Pascal Ackermann start this tour with outsider chances to win on Saturday. The competition between them is fierce, as this time the race features the world’s best sprint stars – from Italy’s Jonathan Milan, Belgium’s Tim Merlier and Jasper Philipsen to the 2024 Tour green jersey winner Binyam Hirmei.
