The Florida Panthers have successfully defended the Stanley Cup – again against the Edmonton Oilers. “The Panthers won the series to seven wins with a score of 4-2.

The Florida Panthers have defended their NHL title and shattered the Oilers’ dreams of the 2025 Stanley Cup for the second time in a row. In the sixth game of the final series, the Panthers won their fourth victory in front of their home fans in Florida with a score of 5-1 (2-0, 1-0, 2-1).

The star of the night was Sam Reinhart, who scored four goals.

A year ago, the Florida team won the first three games, but then was forced to play the seventh game after three consecutive defeats.

Three days after a 5-2 win in Edmonton, the Panthers also took control early in game six of the series and led 2-0 after the first period.

Reinhart scored in the fifth minute for a 1-0 lead, and Matthew Tkachuk netted his second goal 47 seconds before the siren. A mistake by Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner allowed Reinhart to score his second goal.

“The Panthers didn’t make any major mistakes and struck again with a cold-blooded attack. With seven minutes left in the game, the Oilers took their goalie off the ice and tried a six-man power play: 26 seconds later, Reinhart scored into an empty net to make it 4-0. When he scored his fourth goal of the day, making it 5-0, the game was already decided, and Vasily Podkolzin’s goal didn’t make a difference.

As a reminder, the US national team won the World Ice Hockey Championship. The team triumphed again after decades without a cup.
