On Wednesday, 21 May, Premier League teams Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United will meet in the UEFA Europa League final at the San Mames Barria Stadium in Bilbao.

Tottenham won their last Europa League match, beating Bodo/Glimt 5-1 in the semi-finals. After winning the first leg at home 3-1, the London club pulled out a 2-0 victory in the second leg. In the return leg, the team won thanks to the efforts of Dominic Solanke and Pedro Porro, who scored goals.

Manchester United won their last Europa League match, defeating Athletic 7-1 on aggregate in the semi-finals. After a 3-0 win in the first leg, Manchester United won the second leg at home with a 4-1 victory. Mason Mount scored an assist to open the scoring in the second leg.

Manchester United is looking to win the first head-to-head match between these teams since October 2022. During this period, Spurs outscored United by 14 goals and seven goals.

Manchester United’s leading players in the final third were Bruno Fernandes and Rasmus Hjolund, who scored seven and six times respectively in the Europa League this season. Fernandes shares the lead among the top scorers in the competition in the 2024/2025 season, while Hjolund is fourth.

Both teams have been successful in the final third of the Europa League, as the visiting Red Devils have been on target in every match this season, while the hosts have not conceded in their last five matches in the competition.

In their last six matches, Manchester United won two, drew one and lost three. During this time, they have scored 11 and conceded nine, with two of the six matches being scored first. They scored four goals in the first half, while their opponents scored five times before the break.
