On 16 November, the Europa-Park Stadium in Freiburg will host the teams of League A of the third group.
German national football team
The Bundestim have already secured a place in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Nations League after a 1-0 victory over the Netherlands. A point from the next game – and no Hungarian victory over the Dutch – will be enough to secure first place in the top division of this competition for the first time in the fourth season.
The game in Freiburg should be conducive to further success, as Germany have only lost once on their home soil in the tournament. Importantly, however, they have won all four of their last six games as hosts, scoring at least three goals in three of those victories. This record could come in handy against Bosnia and Herzegovina, as they are yet to record a win against the country despite remaining unbeaten in all head-to-head meetings.
Leroy Sane can compensate for the absence of Deniz Ondava. Interestingly, the winger has scored this season only in matches won by his club Bayern Munich with a difference of 4+ goals (three goals).
Bosnia national football team
The Balkans managed to score only one point. Serhiy Barbarez’s team could be relegated from League B.
During all four seasons of the tournament, the “Dragons” have been promoted from one division to another, but have yet to win a game at the highest level.
Bosnia must win the match and hope for a draw between Hungary and the Netherlands to have a chance of finishing in the top two. A defeat against Germany would mean elimination from the group. The latter outcome seems the most likely, as Bosnia has not won any of its nine away games since its first ever away game in Northern Ireland, although it has scored in five of its last six matches.
Bosnia striker Luka Kulenovic called his first call-up ‘a great honour’, which he deserved after an encouraging start at Heracles Almelo (four goals).
It is worth noting that eleven goals in the last five away matches of the tournament were scored by Bosnia in the second half.
Prediction for the match Germany – Bosnia
The Germans have actually already settled their affairs in the Nations League, but not completely. We can hope for goals from the guests, because the hosts don’t need much effort anymore.
Both will score in 2.45
Earlier in the Nations League, the Swiss national team played against Serbia.
