On Thursday, 14 November, the Central Stadium in Almaty will host the national teams of Kazakhstan and Austria.
Kazakhstan national football team
The players of the Kazakhstan national team scored only one point in the first four matches of the UEFA Nations League 2024/25. The team will no longer be able to leave the group.
One of the problems for the Kazakhs is their goal-scoring statistics: they have failed to score in four consecutive matches and five in this competition. However, their slim hopes of staying in League B are fuelled by their form in the usual conditions: three of their last five home games have been won in 90 minutes.
Kazakhstan’s record goalscorer Bakhtiyar Zainutdinov is expected to score. All of his last five international goals were scored after the 70th minute.
Austrian national football team

Ralph Rangnick’s team must continue their winning streak in order not to lose hope ofqualifying for the final round of the championship.
The visitors should be confident of extending their unbeaten run in head-to-head matches, largely thanks to their defensive performance, as they have not conceded a single goal in these games. Austria’s recent results on the road are a concern, as they have lost three of their last four matches on the road, although a run of five straight away wins in this competition previously is proof enough that they are up for the challenge.

The Austrian team should still win with class. The odds for victory are not high, but it is worth paying attention to other options.
