On 23 May, the Canadian national ice hockey team will play against Slovakia at the O2 Arena in Prague. The team from North America won Group A with five wins in regular time and two overtime triumphs. They have now reached the quarter-finals.

Thanks to the Buffalo Sabres forward Dylan Cozens, the Canadians managed to take first place in the standings. Team Canada encountered minor problems in their matches against Austria and the tournament hosts, the Czech Republic, as they needed overtime to defeat both opponents.
The last three matches of the preliminary round were played against three other teams that were fighting for the exit. The last match against the Czech Republic was particularly interesting. The team managed to come back from a 3-1 deficit with two goals before Cozens scored the game-winner in overtime on Tuesday to win 4-3.
Cozens leads Canada with 10 points. He is followed by captain John Tavares, who has one goal and seven assists after seven games.
Slovakia national ice hockey team
Slovakia had a strong start to the tournament with wins over Germany and the United States. They finished the preliminary round with back-to-back defeats against Latvia (3-2 in a shootout) and a crushing 6-1 loss to Sweden, which took first place in Group B.
Slovakia’s overall score in the seven matches of the preliminary round was 3-1-1-2. This allowed them to score 12 points and take last place in Group B.
Libor Hudacek is the leading player in Slovakia. He has five goals and nine points. The loss of Calgary Flames forward Martin Pospisil will be critical for the team. He has three goals and seven points, but he left the game against Sweden with a shoulder injury after a bad collision with the boards.
Slovakia also has arguably the best goalkeeper in the tournament. Samuel Hlavaj has a 1.93 goals-against average and the best save percentage in the tournament at 0.939.
Canada – Slovakia forecast
The Canadians are the undisputed favourites of the meeting. The team is capable of winning the tournament.
Winning first online would be the best option.
Previously, France and Germany played at the World Championship of Hockey.
